The Deacon Whiskey

About The Deacon: The Deacon is a masterful blend of both smoky Speyside and peaty Islay malt whiskies, making for a complex, rich, and smoky dram. In our blend, the single malts from Islay have a characteristic peaty smoke flavour, while the single malts from the mainland have a bonfire-like smoke character. A nose of charred orange, sweet malty biscuits and woodsmoke gives way to juicy orange on the palate along with delicate spice, and tangy peat. The finish is both sweet and smoky, long and smooth.

About Girlan: The Cantina Girlan was founded in 1923 by 23 vintners at this historic 16th century country estate. The 23 charter members had an annual production of a mere 2,700 hectoliters of wine. The Cantina Girlan now has 200 winegrower members, for a total of 220 hectares of vineyards in the best growing zones of the Oltradige and Bassa Atesina. Girlan— first mentioned in historical documents dating back to A.D.1085—has always been a famed wine-growing area. The vineyards are located at altitudes from 250 to 550m above sea level, in soil types that form an ideal environment for growing numerous native and international varietals.
